Literally, on one sequence you will do a mine tunnel cart ride and in the next you beat up a literal tyrant with your bare fists. I had a blast playing this game with a friend, every situation to the next is a rollercoaster ride. Those campaigns are supposed to have their focus and playstyle and theme on something different, but altogether its rather all the same.

The whole game is playable in coop, even the single player campaign with Ada is, albeit not really made for it as the coop partner cannot interact with anything. The game is split into 4 campaigns and a mandatory tutorial which is rather annoying as its not skippable. Every character has their own melee moves, which change depending which angle you do them or how you have stunned an enemy as that’s mostly the only way you can do any techniques. After some time I really got used to it and I found the gameplay to be rather fun.Ī lot of the fun in the combat is now focused on the melee moves you can do. In order to dodge as an example(which is quite a necessity) you need to press y(qwertz keyboard) or c But those aren’t that much better on the controller either. I found the game to be working very well with mouse in keyboard, albeit some buttons for the menu or moves are weird. So capcom tried to be more like one in 4 and 5, which worked so they went with resident evil 6 the complete third person shooter route and I strangely found it totally working.Īssuming you played RE5, the controls will be completely unfamiliar. The reason why the 6th instalment of the franchise has nothing to do anymore with the original is because the classic survival horror genre just isn’t popular anymore. Review I really liked the original survival horror trilogy of resident evil.
